We just expanded our team not too long ago, and one of the first questions our team members usually ask is, “What makes Real Property Management Salt Lake city different than other property management companies?” To us who have been here since the beginning of time, the answers seem obvious. But the more we took time to think about this, the more we realized our clients, vendors, residents, and partners may not even know all of what makes us so different. So much of what we do is behind the scenes. Most may not even notice!
So, we thought it would be a great opportunity to share with our current team members, our clients, residents, vendors, and hopefully future clients some insight into why we are not just a property management company. In fact property management is just a tiny piece in the puzzle of what we do. To be really honest, calling us property managers is quite inaccurate. A better term would be wealth managers.
Let’s start at the beginning with our typical first impression being an applicant interested in renting one of our properties. To our applicants, it may seem like we are asking for the world, and in a short period of time. We ask for a lot of documentation, bank statements, pay stubs, background checks, references, real actual past landlords that we really do speak to, employers that we actually do speak to, and of course we run a really in depth criminal, credit, and background check nationwide. Which is why sometimes it can take a little longer that apartment complexes. We actually have a human being collecting data, and completing your resident profile.
Unlike a lot of other property management companies, or corporations, or apartment complexes, we really believe in giving people a chance to change their life around. We do not just run a credit score, plug it into a computer that pops an approval or denial. We have programs designed to help potential residents rebuild credit, rebuild references, and have a fresh start in life if there are some blemishes on your record. The more honest you are about things, the better we can help you accomplish your goals, especially if at some point buying a house is one of those dreams you may have! We want to help get you there! Which is why our application process may seem a bit tougher than others, but we do so in order to best help you!
Our current residents, you may think we are strict, but we do have a heart and will work with you!
If you have been a long time tenant of ours, and get an eviction notice because you were late on your rent, you may be alarmed and think you have a great track record, which you do! However Real Property Management Salt Lake City will never not send you notices if you do not pay your rent on time. It does not matter if you have been with us 10 days, or 10 years. If you pay late, our company policies and procedures take effect.
However,…. If you email us a head of time and let us know that life happened, and you want to make reasonable arrangements more often than not you can avoid that first nasty gram to remind you that you could be facing an eviction! We also really want you to be honest with us, if you had major life changes and the rent amount is not going to be sustainable and you feel you are headed in a bad direction – we do not want to have to evict you and have that on your record!! Talk to us, let’s put together a plan so that we can figure out how to avoid that. You may be surprised at the solutions we can come up with! We will always do what we can to work with you when you are honest with us and have a great track record of being a great tenant!
